Paper Puppets
By cutting rolling and sticking brightly coloured paper, everybody can experience the joy of making their
very own talking puppet,
The activity can easily be themed. Pirate Puppets seem to be very popular.
(paper puppets are based on an original
design by Jim Morris)

Shadow Stories
Simple
techniques allow everyone to make shadow puppets and use then to tell exciting stories of their own devising
An excellent activity where developing speaking and listening are a priority
This activity can fit with various topics - light and dark, for example. I recently did a really good shadow
project telling the story of The Great Fire of London.

'I aim to inspire young minds and show everbody how to make, and make use of, puppets'
'I avoid doing that which teachers can do themselves, and concentrate on bringing an extra touch of specialist
expertise'

Clive Chandler delivers the workshops and provides
all the equipment and materials right down to scissors and pencils
You will not need to provide
anything, except the children and a space to work in.
If the project requires he can also involve a co-worker
and other specialist artists, dancers, and musicians
